2 Pronounced Dead after DUI Accident near Vallejo Street
SANTA ROSA, CA (February 24, 2022) – Authorities arrested Matthew Wilton Friday afternoon, after a suspected DUI collision on Farmers Lane.
According to Santa Rosa police, the crash occurred around 6:40 p.m., on February 18. Emergency crews responded to the scene near Vallejo Street shortly after.
Per reports, the driver of a southbound vehicle collided with another vehicle at the intersection. Upon arriving to the scene, officers noticed 46-year-old Wilton one of two drivers involved, appearing to be intoxicated.
Authorities conducted field sobriety tests and found that Wilton’s blood alcohol content was more than three times the legal limit.
The other driver, an adult female who sustained minor injuries, said she didn’t see Wilton until he collided with her at the intersection.
Police later learned that Wilton was on felony probation from three prior DUI convictions within the previous 10 years. As per reports, Wilton was detained and booked on five different charges.
