One Killed in Pedestrian Crash on Alvarado Canyon Road [San Diego, CA]
Pedestrian Fatally Struck by U-Haul Truck on Alvarado Canyon Road
SAN DIEGO, CA (February 23, 2022) – A pedestrian crash on Alvarado Canyon Road claimed the life of one woman, Monday evening.
According to the police, the crash occurred around 9:00 p.m. in the 4600 block of Alvarado Canyon Road.
Investigators later said that the passenger-side mirror of a U-Haul truck, driven by a 65-year-old woman, hit a female pedestrian.
Upon impact, the pedestrian suffered life-threatening injuries. Due to the extent of her condition, first responders later declared the woman deceased at the scene.
Authorities have not yet released the identities of those involved. In addition, sections of the roadway were temporarily shutdown to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties.
At this time, San Diego Officials are still currently investigating the Grantville pedestrian crash.
