Anthony Coleman Killed in Motorcycle Crash on Interstate 880 [Oakland, CA]
Motorcycle Collision near 7th Street Left One Fatality
OAKLAND, CA (February 23, 2022) – A motorcycle crash on Interstate 880 claimed the life of Anthony Coleman early Sunday morning.
According to the CHP, the crash happened just after 12:30 am on northbound Interstate Highway 880 in Oakland.
Eventually, the Oakland Fire Department crews arrived and located a body in the right lane of the highway and an overturned vehicle south of the 7th Street off-ramp.
The California Highway Patrol issued a SigAlert at 12:53 a.m. to close all northbound lanes.
Later on, the preliminary investigation showed that a BMW in the carpool lane struck a motorcycle from behind at around 12:30 am and rolled over.
The police identified the deceased motorcyclist as 34-year-old Anthony Coleman.
Meanwhile, the driver of the BMW and their passenger remained uninjured.
Oakland Officials are currently investigating the motorcycle crash.
