Victim Pronounced Dead after Auto Accident near Higley Road

MESA, AZ (February 22, 2022) – Saturday morning, at least one person was killed in a multi-vehicle collision on U.S. 60.

California Highway Patrol officers responded to the scene on the eastbound lanes of the highway around 4:00 a.m. Although, the events leading up to the crash remain unclear.

Reports indicate that medics pronounced one person dead at the scene. However, authorities have not yet released their name or place of residency.

The crash prompted the closure of the eastbound lanes near Higley Road before it was later reopened. No further details were released.

At this time, an active investigation into the deadly collision remains underway.
