Passenger Killed in Car Rollover Accident on Buena Vista Road

BAKERSFIELD, CA (February 11, 2022) – Early Sunday morning, a passenger was killed in a rollover accident on Harris Road.

The two-vehicle rollover crash happened at the intersection of Harris and Buena Vista Road at 12:08 a.m.

According to reports, a dark blue BMW SUV and a dark-colored vehicle came to rest against a wall just off the crossroads, as per footage from the incident.

Moreover, the California Highway Patrol said a man driving a reported stolen vehicle ran a red light and collided with another vehicle at the crossing.

First responders located the passenger inside the stolen car and pronounced them dead at the scene. Medics then drove the motorist to a local hospital for treatment after he sustained significant injuries.

Meanwhile, the occupants of the second car did not sustain any injuries.

Investigators encourage witnesses to cooperate and call Bakersfield police at 661-327-7111. Bakersfield authorities will release additional information once it becomes available.
