One Killed in Traffic Collision on Interstate 5 [San Diego, CA]
Victim Pronounced Dead after Auto Accident near Carmel Mountain South
SAN DIEGO, CA (January 27, 2022) – Monday evening, a traffic collision on Interstate 5 claimed the life of one person.
The incident occurred around 10:49 p.m., on the northbound lanes of the highway near Carmel Mountain South.
Upon arrival, authorities found a victim lying in the roadway with life-threatening injuries. However, the events leading up to the collision still currently remain unclear.
Eventually, medics pronounced the victim dead at the scene. Although, authorities have not yet released their name or place of residency.
Meanwhile, crews issued a SigAlert to shut down all northbound lanes of Interstate 5 and Carmel Mountain South. They also instructed all motorists to divert routes and avoid the area.
At this time, further factors leading up to the traffic collision on Interstate 5 are still under active investigation.
