Driver Dead after Fatal Solo-Car Crash on Bonita Lateral Road
SANTA MARIA, CA (January 28, 2022) – Wednesday night, a 22-year-old man died in a solo-vehicle rollover collision on Bonita School Road.
The fatal accident happened around 7:20 p.m., at the intersection of Bonita School Road and Bonita Lateral Road.
According to authorities, a driver was heading south on Bonita School Road when he lost control of his car and collided with a sign, telephone pole, and a chain-link fence. The impact flipped the automobile onto its roof, crushing the driver’s side door and roof.
To extract the driver from the vehicle, first responders had to utilize the “Jaws of Life.” Despite efforts to save his life, medics declared the man dead at the scene.
Officers stated they are looking into whether alcohol and/or drugs played a role in the rollover collision on Bonita School Road. An active investigation is still underway.
