Two Men Injured in DUI Collision on San Emidio Street
TAFT, CA (January 26, 2022) – Sunday evening, 44-year-old Eliseo Reyes was arrested after a DUI hit-and-run crash on Tenth Street.
According to authorities, the incident happened around 6:50 p.m., on the southbound lanes of 10th Street near San Emidio Street.
A 2004 Ford Mustang was reported to have rear-ended a 2022 Toyota Camry. The driver of the Mustang, identified as 44-year-old Reyes, fled from the scene upon the impact.
Meanwhile, paramedics arrived and transported the 19-year-old and 22-year-old occupants of the Toyota to a local hospital, after complaining of pain.
Furthermore, a witness followed Reyes to the 100 block of Taylor Street and reported him to the authorities. As a result, police charged Reyes with several crimes such as hit-and-run, driving under the influence, and driving without a license.
At this time, an active investigation is still currently underway.
