1 Airlifted Following Two-Vehicle Collision on Highway 138

HESPERIA, CA (January 21, 2022) – At least two people sustained major injuries Saturday after a two-vehicle collision on Highway 138.

The crash happened around 7:15 a.m., in the area of Highway 138 along Coriander Drive and Summit Post Office Road.

CHP responded to the report of a head-on collision between a silver Dodge Avenger and a black Honda Accord, for still unknown reasons.

Officers arrived at the scene and located the vehicles with major front-end damage and blocking the way.

Emergency crews rescued and extricated one of the victims then Mercy Air crews airlifted the victim to nearby trauma center for treatment.

Meanwhile, the other victim was transported to Loma Linda University Medical Center.

Furthermore, officials closed the area for about two hours but has since reopened around 9:44 a.m.

At this time, investigators are unsure as to what caused the collision. However, an active investigation remains ongoing.
