55-Year-Old Man Fatally Struck in Pedestrian Accident near Gilmore Avenue
BAKERSFIELD, CA (January 20, 2022) – Monday night, Kevin Bernard Meyers was killed in a pedestrian collision on Buck Owens Boulevard.
The incident occurred just before 9:00 p.m., on Buck Owens Boulevard near Gilmore Avenue.
Per preliminary reports, the driver of a vehicle struck the male pedestrian while he was crossing the street outside a marked crosswalk.
Due to the impact of the collision, medics pronounced 55-year-old Meyers, of Baton Rouge dead at the scene.
The surrounding area was closed for a brief time to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties before it was later reopened.
In addition, police claimed that speed did not play a factor in the collision.
At this time, Bakersfield Officials continue to investigate the fatal pedestrian crash.
