5 Injured in Head-On Collision on Highway 44 [Shingletown, CA]
At Least Five Hospitalized after Head-On Accident near Miller Ranch Road
SHINGLETOWN, CA (January 20, 2022) – Saturday afternoon, five people sustained injuries in a head-on collision on Highway 44.
Officers say the accident happened around 1:30 p.m., along Highway 44 near Miller Ranch Road.
According to reports, the events leading up to the collision remain unclear. However two cars collided head-on, sending one vehicle off the embankment. Meanwhile, the other vehicle came to a rest on top of the railing.
Paramedics airlifted one victim to a local hospital in critical condition. Meanwhile, medics also transferred the other four victims to a nearby hospital with moderate injuries.
In addition, authorities closed the area for a brief time to clear the wreckage.
At this time, Shingletown police continue to investigate the two-vehicle collision and will release updates once available.
