Jerome Perry Killed in Car Crash on San Luisito Creek Road [San Luis Obispo, CA]
62-Year-Old Victim Pronounced Dead after Auto Collision near Morro Bay
SAN LUIS OBISPO, CA (January 12, 2022) – Jerome Perry died in a New Year’s Eve crash on San Luisito Creek Road, authorities reported.
According to California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 7:22 p.m., at the connecting road between San Luis Obispo and Morro Bay.
Per reports, 62-year-old Perry was traveling southbound in his Chevrolet pickup-truck when he turned left across the highway and crossed paths with a Hyundai Sonata.
Perry attempted to break in order to avoid a collision, but failed to do so in time and ending up striking the sedan driven by 38-year-old Gerardo Aldama, of Santa Maria.
The Sonata hit the right side of Perry’s truck, which immediately caught fire as a result of the impact.
As of this time, reports could not say whether Perry was pronounced dead at the scene or at the hospital.
Meanwhile, police said Aldama did not sustain any injuries from the crash. CHP is asking any witness to the crash to call 805-594-8700.
