Hit-and-Run Crash on John Avenue Left 30-Year-Old Man Arrested
SAN PABLO, CA (January 11, 2022) – Police arrested Douglas Rodas-Reyes following a hit-and-run crash on John Avenue Friday night.
The fatal incident happened around 10:12 p.m. near Giant Road and John Avenue.
According to the officers, they found the victim suffering from severe injuries, and later died at the scene.
However, the involved driver who struck the victim fled the scene before the authorities arrived.
Ultimately, police arrested 30-year-old Douglas Rodas-Reyes with the help of Richmond police officers Saturday morning.
Multiple witnesses and surveillance cameras identified the suspect’s vehicle as a 2005 Dodge Magnum that led to the arrest.
In the end, San Pablo officials booked Rodas-Reyes into Contra Costa County Jail for felony hit-and-run and vehicular manslaughter.
