Jose Alvarez Dies in Hit-and-Run on El Mirage Road [Glendale, AZ]

Hit-and-Run Crash on Northern Parkway Left Pedestrian Dead

GLENDALE, AZ (January 10, 2022) – A pedestrian hit-and-run crash on El Mirage Road claimed the life of Jose Alvarez Friday night.

According to MCSO, the pedestrian crash happened around 8:00 p.m., on El Mirage Road and Northern Parkway in Glendale.

For reasons unknown, two vehicles hit Alvarez who was walking nearby.

Paramedics immediately responded on the scene and identified the pedestrian as the 27-year-old Jose Alvarez. Due to the impact of the collision, medics pronounced Alvarez dead at the scene.

Meanwhile, authorities say the two involved drivers fled from the scene.

Reports identified the 2 vehicles; a red Kia Optima sedan, a model made from 2011 to 2013, and a gray Nissan Altima was likely made between 2001 and 2006.

In addition, the KIA Optima may have damage to the front left part of the car, including the headlight, front fender, mirror and hood. Meanwhile, the Nissan Altima may have damage to the front fender and left wheel.

Authorities are still searching for both drivers and vehicles.
