Septic Tank Accident on Colene Street Left 1 Fatality, 1 Injured

BAKERSFIELD, CA (January 7, 2022) – Authorities are investigating a septic tank accident on Colene Street that left one dead Wednesday afternoon.

According to authorities, they received a report about the incident around 2:30 p.m. in 2000 block of Colene Street.

Furthermore, according to the Kern County Fire responders, one person had already been pulled out and one remained trapped.

Consequently, the remaining person died at the scene while paramedics transported the other person to a hospital for treatment.

Eventually, the investigators determined that the fatality is due to the gasses inside the septic tank.

In addition, authorities also claimed that the property owner and their friend worked on the septic tank before falling in.
