Hit-and-Run on Charleston Boulevard Left One Pedestrian Dead
LAS VEGAS, NV (January 7, 2022) – On Tuesday, a hit-and-run crash on Hollywood Boulevard left Arturo Gomez dead.
The crash occurred around 4 a.m. in E. Charleston Boulevard near Phyllis Street.
According to reports, the incident involved Arturo Gomez, the pedestrian and the Krispy Kreme delivery truck driver, identified as Jeffrey Dungo.
Eventually, authorities arrested the driver several hours later after seeing a surveillance camera.
Furthermore, in one video the Krispy Kreme delivery truck was seen traveling westbound on Charleston. Eventually, the vehicle struck the pedestrian jaywalking across the westbound lanes.
In addition, the video shows the driver stopping the truck, getting out and looking at the damage, making a U-turn in the direction of the pedestrian but continued driving. The driver continued making deliveries and later on reported the crash to his boss.
According to the interview, Dungo checked the truck when he heard a noise and seemingly hit something but did not see anything so he fled. He told the police that the incident happened at Eastern and U.S. 95 which was a different location from where Gomez was struck and killed.
At this time, he was already into custody and facing a hit-and-run charges.
