Road Blocked after Wrong-Way Crash on Interstate 80 [Sparks, NV]
Vehicle Collision on Interstate 80 Resulted in Partial Highway Closure
SPARKS, NV (January 3, 2022) – A wrong-way crash on Interstate 80 prompted the closure of some lanes of the highway early Saturday morning.
According to authorities, the crash occurred at 2:08 a.m. on Interstate 80.
Furthermore, reports show that a driver in a Dodge Ram truck was traveling east on Interstate 80 in the westbound lanes.
Consequently, the vehicle collided with a Toyota Tundra, forcing the Tundra to roll over.
Eventually, the Dodge then spun around and collided with a Nissan Rogue, causing the Nissan to flip over. The Nissan driver sustained serious injuries.
Authorities are yet to release the cause of the accident.
Meanwhile, due to the crash, authorities closed the westbound lanes of Interstate 80 near Sparks. The lanes were blocked for almost six hours due to the wrong-way incident involving three cars.
Eventually, by 8:20 a.m., authorities reopened the lanes.
