Teen Killed in Fiery Auto Accident on Interstate 580 [Tri-Valley, CA]
16-Year-Old Boy Dead after Three-Vehicle Crash near Hopyard Road
TRI-VALLEY, CA (December 28, 2021) – Sunday morning, a 16-year-old boy was killed in a fiery auto accident on Interstate 580.
Officers responded to the incident around 2:35 p.m., at the Hopyard Road exit near Pleasanton.
According to police, a car smashed into one of two vehicles that were disabled in the traffic lanes for unknown reasons. As a result, one vehicle became engulfed in flames.
Paramedics responded and pronounced the male occupant who was trapped inside the fiery car dead at the scene.
Authorities later closed all I-580 lanes for two hours to conduct an investigation. Although, the road has since reopened to traffic.
At this time, Tri-Valley CHP is still currently working to identify the circumstances surrounding the crash.
