Male Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Two Vehicles on San Tomas Expressway
SANTA CLARA, CA (December 20, 2021) – A pedestrian died after being hit by at least two vehicles on San Tomas Expressway Sunday evening.
Authorities said at 8:10 p.m., a man was reportedly lying on the northbound lanes of San Tomas Expressway just north of the Central Expressway overpass.
Upon responding, officers found a male pedestrian with major injuries who eventually died at the scene.
Police said the drivers, who remained at the scene to cooperate, did not see the pedestrian until the collision.
Initial investigation said alcohol or drugs did not appear to be a factor in the incident.
The road on San Tomas Expressway remained closed for an extended period of time for cleanup and preliminary duties.
