Bicyclist Accident on Bascom Avenue Claimed the Life of One
SAN JOSE, CA (December 6, 2021) – One man tragically died Monday morning following a bicycle accident on Bascom Avenue near Interstate 880.
The collision happened around 10:18 a.m., in the area of Interstate 880 and Bascom Avenue, near the San Jose-Santa Clara border. Emergency crews responded to the area shortly after.
According to CHP officers, a man traveling on a bicycle was fatally struck by a woman driving a 2010 Toyota sedan.
Paramedics declared the individual dead at the scene. Although, authorities withheld his identity until his next of kin is notified.
Meanwhile, officials stated that the driver of the Toyota was not injured and stayed at the site to assist with officers.
At this time, CHP officials believe that neither drugs or alcohol were involved in the crash. However, an active investigation is underway.
