1 Dead after Fiery Semi-Truck Accident on Interstate 15 [Cajon Pass, CA]

1 Pronounced Dead after Fatal Big-Rig Collision near Oak Hill Road in Cajon Pass

CAJON PASS, CA (November 30, 2021) – Monday morning, one person was pronounced dead after a semi-truck accident on Interstate 15.

According to police, the incident happened around 6:44 a.m., on the northbound lanes. Crews arrived to the scene about a mile before the Oak Hill Road exit.

California Highway Patrol and San Bernardino County Fire Officials responded and discovered a silver Hyundai Accent and a big-rig.

Investigators later determined that the Hyundai driver passed a truck on the No. 5 lane by going around the No. 4 lane. There, the Hyundai driver rear-ended a disabled big-rig with double fuel tankers partially blocking the No.5 lane.

Due to the impact of the collision, the Hyundai caught fire. Fortunately, good Samaritans are able to free the driver from the burning vehicle.

Despite the life-saving measures of the first responders, the driver died at the scene. The authorities shut down the northbound lanes while they investigated the fatal rear-end crash.
