Officers responded to the incident reported around 8:45 p.m. at the northbound 5 Freeway at Civic Center South.

According to a witness, a vehicle struck a male pedestrian standing in the fast lane.

However, the CHP stated that nobody pulled over after the initial crash along the Freeway.

In the end, officials closed down two lanes of traffic to clear out the scene and launch preliminary investigations.
