Deadly Collision at Watt Avenue Kills Two Sisters

SACRAMENTO, CA (November 3, 2021) — Friday afternoon, sisters Sheila Berry and Ethel Riley died in a crash at the intersection of Watt Avenue and Don Julio Boulevard.

Authorities said a teenage driver lost control of their car while they attempted to beat a yellow light.

The car then hit a sports apparel stand that Berry, 60, and Riley, 56 were working, killing them instantly.

Officials aren’t sure what speed the vehicle was traveling at but witnesses stated it was between 40 and 60 miles per hour.

The next day, family and friends held a vigil remembering the two sisters, according to reports. They called for safety improvements to be made at the intersection to prevent future accidents.

Authorities said they do not believe drugs or alcohol played a factor in the crash.

The family has set up a Gofundme for funeral expenses.

We would like to extend our heartfelt sympathies to the family and friends of the victims during this time.
