33-Year-Old Woman Detained after Hit-and-Run Collision on Shasta Street

REDDING, CA (November 2, 2021) On Thursday, officials arrested 33-year-old Leona McCovey after a hit-and-run crash on Pine Street.

The accident took place around 8:57 a.m. October 21, at the intersection on Pine and Shasta Street.

According to Redding police, the victim was walking between the crossing markers when he was struck by McCovey, who refused to stop and continued driving, fleeing the scene.

Responding officers discovered the man with a head injury lying down on the road.

At this time, police did not released the condition of the victim.

Meantime, CHP found McCovey at her house and charged her for causing great bodily harm in a hit-and-run.

Eventually, authorities arrested McCovey and booked her into the Shasta County Jail.

Currently, no further information has been provided but Redding police investigate the accident.
