One Fontana Police Officer Hurt after Responding in DUI Crash on Sierra Avenue
FONTANA, CA (October 27, 2021) – A Fontana police officer sustained injuries Monday morning after a suspected DUI crash on Sierra Avenue.
According to authorities, the collision happened around 1:00 a.m. October 18th, in the area of Sierra Avenue and Sierra Lakes Parkway.
Furthermore, according to reports, authorities responded to the area after reports of a car accident caused by drunk driving.
While police were completing their investigation, another car hit them behind, sending 2 police officers and a tow truck driver across the median strip to an oncoming vehicle.
Paramedics arrived and took one of the police officers with a leg injury to Kaiser Hospital for treatment.
At this time, officials said the motorist was intoxicated at the time of the collision. However, the crash remains under investigation.
