Guadelupe Sanchez Castellanos Dies in US 101 DUI Crash [Sonoma Co., CA]
23-Year-Old Man Killed in Wrong-Way DUI Crash on U.S. 101
SONOMA COUNTY, CA (October 20, 2021) – Guadelupe Sanchez Castellanos, 23, of Santa Rosa, lost his life in a wrong-way DUI crash on U.S. 101 on Friday.
The tragic crash happened around 4:45 a.m. October 15th, on the southbound U.S. 101 near Rohnert Park Expressway.
According to reports, David Stubbers, 26, of San Diego, was driving a Ford Edge northbound in the right southbound lane when he collided head-on with a Mazda 3 traveling in the right southbound lane.
Rescuers extricated the Mazda driver, Castellanos, who was trapped in the car. Neither of the cars had passengers at the time of the crash.
Paramedics transported both drivers to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital. However, the Mazda 3 driver succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. Officials identified the victim as 23-year-old Guadelupe Sanchez Castellanos.
Meanwhile, authorities arrested Stubbers for felony DUI after he was released from the hospital.
At this time, the CHP have not released further information. Once available, more details will be provided.
