Passenger Killed in I-80 Multi-Vehicle Crash near El Portal Drive
SAN PABLO, CA (October 1, 2021) – 52-year-old Juan Ixcoy was pronounced dead following a multi-vehicle accident on 80 Freeway.
The incident happened around 4:50 a.m., on Monday when the passenger inside a vehicle suffered a fatal heart attack after three vehicles collided.
Per reports, a Toyota Rav4 SUV, a Honda Civic and a Toyota Corolla collided. However, the events leading up to the collision remain unknown.
Upon impact, the Rav4 overturned and came to a stop in the far left lane. Shortly after, the Rav4 was struck by the Honda and Toyota Corolla.
The driver of the Rav4 and two passengers were transported to a trauma center for further treatment. There, 52-year-old Ixcoy, of Oxnard was pronounced dead.
Authorities issued a Sig Alert in the area of I-80 due to blockage at the two leftmost lanes.
