Union Avenue Hit-and-Run Claims Life of 74-Year-Old Jerry Wesley Wallace
BAKERSFIELD, CA (October 1, 2021) – 74-year-old Jerry Wesley Wallace lost his life after a tragic hit-and-run crash last Tuesday on Union Avenue.
The collision happened sometime in the afternoon of September 22, on Union Avenue near Columbus Street.
According to the CHP, Wallace was driving south on Union Avenue when he was struck by another vehicle, who quickly fled the scene.
Responding crews transported the man to a local hospital but tragically succumbed to his injuries.
Meanwhile, the unidentified driver who fled the scene is still at large.
Police are asking anyone with information regarding the fatal collision to contact the Bakersfield Police Department at 661-327-7111.
