Student Pronounced Dead after Fatal Crash on Tropical Parkway

LAS VEGAS, NV (September 28, 2021) – Saturday afternoon, a student was killed in a pedestrian accident on Centennial Center Boulevard.

Police say the minor was walking eastbound against a “do not walk” signal around 12:22 p.m. There, a 2020 Ford Fusion struck the boy as a he attempted to avoid the vehicle.

The pedestrian was taken to University Medical Center for treatment of life-threatening injuries. Despite life-saving efforts, he was later pronounced dead.

In addition, the Ford was driven by a 48-year-old Las Vegas man. The driver stayed on scene and cooperated with the authorities.

Moreover, officers say that impairment is not believed to be a factor in the collision. However, an active investigation is still currently underway.
