Driver Injured in Bus Collision on Coal Creek Parkway [Bellevue, WA]
One Person Hospitalized Following a Car and Bus Collision on Coal Creek Parkway
BELLEVUE, WA (September 22, 2021) – A truck driver suffered minor injuries Saturday following a car and bus collision on Coal Creek Parkway.
The accident took place on Coal Creek Parkway near Forest Drive on Saturday, September 18.
Police say the truck was driving southbound when, for still unknown reasons, it crossed into oncoming traffic, crashing into a school bus going northbound.
Emergency crews extricated the driver of the truck and transported to a local hospital with minor injuries. No other injuries were reported.
At this time, alcohol or illegal substances was not considered a factor in this accident for both drivers involved, according to CHP.
The Bellevue Police continue to advise drivers to slow down, especially on wet roads. An active investigation is underway.
When driving, it is important to keep an eye out for motorcyclists. Check all your mirrors and blind spots before merging with traffic or changing lanes. Also, allow more following distance when behind a motorcycle. This gives them more time to react or stop in case of an emergency. If you are riding a motorcycle, do not underestimate the bike’s speed. Use hand and turn signals when you change lanes or turn.
