SEATTLE, WA (September 22, 2021) – At least two people sustained injuries after a head-on collision on Hood Canal Bridge last Saturday.
The collision happened around 3:00 p.m., in the area of Hood Canal Bridge.
According to reports, a 48-year-old Jeep Wrangler driver was going east on the bridge but lost control when the surface turned from a grated roadway to pavement and crossed the centerline then collided head-on with a 2020 Hyundai Elantra.
Responding officers located the Wrangler passenger, a 54-year-old Seattle man, injured and taken to St. Michael Medical Center-Silverdale. While, the Wrangler driver escaped the crash without injuries.
Paramedics also rushed the Hyundai driver to St. Michael Medical Center-Silverdale with unspecified injuries. A 64-year-old Hansville woman passenger in the Hyundai also escaped injury.
Furthermore, CHP said both vehicles were totaled that caused road closure for several hours for cleanup and investigation.
Investigators are trying to find out if speed played a role. However, an active investigation is underway.
