Alvern Street Bicycle-Auto Collision Left One Fatality, Micheal Tesfai Arrested
LADERA HEIGHTS, CA (September 21, 2021) – Police arrested Micheal Tesfai after a fatal bicycle-auto collision on Alvern Street last Saturday.
The incident happened around 4:40 A.M. at Centinela Avenue and Alvern Street, according to CHP Officer G. Ramos.
Investigators claimed that a man on a Canondale bicycle made a right turn onto westbound Centinela, directly into the path of a 2019 Toyota Camry.
As a result, the westbound vehicle struck the bicyclist leaving him critically injured.
Eventually, the Los Angeles County Paramedics responded and pronounced the 71-year-old man dead at the scene.
Although, their identity has not yet been released pending notification of next of kin
Meanwhile, authorities arrested and booked 27-year-old Michael Tesfai of Culver City in Los Angeles County Jail under suspicion of DUI.
