Vehicle Collision on 15 Freeway Left One Fatality
FALLBROOK, CA (September 14, 2021) – A deadly vehicle collision on 15 Freeway claimed the life of at least one person last Sunday.
The officers of the California Highway Patrol responded to the incident just before 1:20 A.M. at the southbound Escondido Freeway near Mission Road.
In addition, one witness claimed that a vehicle struck a barrier but was later identified as a bridge railing.
As a result, the officials cleared the southbound lanes of 15 Freeway at 1:50 A.M. for an air ambulance to land.
At this time, the CHP remains unclear whether the person was pronounced dead at the hospital or at the scene.
Later on, officials reopened the Freeway at around 2:50 A.M.
Fallbrook authorities are working to identify the victim and the circumstances surrounding the crash.
