Woman Fatally Struck by Car on Highway 99 in Lynnwood
LYNNWOOD, WA (September 2, 2021) – An unidentified pedestrian was struck and killed by a car on Highway 99, early Friday afternoon.
The collision occurred on Highway 99 near 176th Street around 1:00 p.m. on August 27.
According to Lynnwood Police, the woman was walking on the sidewalk when she was hit by a car driving away from a nearby business.
The pedestrian was later pronounced dead, due to the extent of her condition.
Following the incident, officials closed the southbound lanes of the highway, which has since reopened.
In addition, detectives say the driver of the vehicle stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. Impairment is not believed to be a factor.
An active investigation is still ongoing at this time. More information will be released as it becomes available.
