Fresno Big-Rig Crash Kills 16-Year-Old Washington Union Student
FRESNO, CA (September 1, 2021) – Authorities are investigating a big-rig crash in Fresno County that claimed the life of 16-year-old Ernesto Garin on Thursday.
The fatal incident occurred around 7 P.M. on August 26 at the intersection of Walnut and Jefferson.
According to the CHP, a big-rig heading north on Walnut and a pick-up going west on Jefferson collided with each other.
As a result, Garin’s pick-up wedged itself underneath the semi truck.
However, the investigators are still working to determine if the big-rig stopped or slowed down on the posted stop sign.
Later on, the authorities identified the truck driver as a 35-year-old man from Fresno, working for JN Transport, Inc.
Meanwhile, the community set up a memorial to mourn the loss of the young Washington Union Student, Ernesto Garin.
