Unrestrained 6-Month-Old Baby Ivory Gerald Dies in Car Collision
PHOENIX, AZ (August 31, 2021) – Police are investigating a deadly collision where a red-light runner struck and killed 6-month-old Ivory Gerald, who was not restrained by a car seat at the time.
According to reports, the collision happened over the weekend when a black GMC pickup ran a red light, striking the unrestrained baby causing her to be ejected from the vehicle.
Unfortunately, Ivory Gerald later at the hospital due to her injuries, while a 3-year-old and three other adults were also injured. It is known that the deadly collision occurred near 7th Street and Buckeye Road in Phoenix.
Phoenix Police Sgt. Vincent Cole made the statement, “A child not being restrained in a car seat is 100% preventable”.
In addition, the red-light runner refused medical attention and stayed at the scene to cooperate with authorities.
Authorities did not release any additional information at this time. However, further investigation is underway.
