Darryl Thompson Hurt, Woman Dies in Fatal Collision near Avenue 184

VISALIA, CA (August 31, 2021) – Monday, a woman was killed and Darryl Thompson was hurt in a 2-car accident on Highway 99.

Officers arrived to the scene on the southbound lanes of the highway, near Avenue 184.

According to reports, a 36-year-old Bakersfield woman was heading south when she collided with another vehicle, driven by Thompson.

Investigators say 54-year-old Darryl Thompson sustained minor injuries and did not require hospitalization. However, the woman suffered life-threatening injuries and was later pronounced dead.

Further details leading up to the collision remain unclear. Although, an active investigation is still underway.
