Highway 99 Big-Rig Crash Leaves Driver Seriously Hurt

CHICO, CA (August 30, 2021) Officials reopened the southbound lanes of Highway 99 after a big-rig crash that resulted in one injured.

The incident occurred around 2:30 A.M. on Thursday at the southbound 99 near East avenue.

Upon further investigation, authorities claimed that the pick-up truck ran into engine problems and was stopped along the Highway.

However, a big-rig collided with the stopped vehicle that was partially blocking the southbound lanes.

As a result, the driver sustained major injuries and was in need of immediate medical attention.

In addition, the markings in the big-rig showed its association with Sierra Pacific Industries in Anderson.

At the end, crews worked to clear out the southbound lanes for three hours until the roadway was finally reopened.
