Deadly Accident on Interstate 82 Involving Semi Truck Results in Fatality

SUNNYSIDE, WA (August 23, 2021) – 83-year-old Dallas Wyatt of Outlook, died Wednesday morning after a fatal crash involving a semi truck on Interstate 82.

The incident occurred around 9:10 a.m. on eastbound Interstate 82 near milepost 69 in Sunnyside.

According to reports, a semi-truck traveling in the same direction was passing Wyatt’s vehicle in the left lane. There, Wyatt veered in order to switch lanes when he was was hit by the semi.

Officers on the scene pronounced Wyatt dead due to the extent of his condition.

Paramedics then rushed a 65-year-old woman who was a passenger in the semi truck to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Authorities currently do not believe that drugs or alcohol played a role. However, an active investigation is still underway.
