1 Killed, 7 Injured in Multi-Vehicle Fiery Collision on 71st Avenue [Phoenix, AZ]
Fiery Crash Results in Fatality in Phoenix
PHOENIX, AZ (August 17, 2021) – Early Monday morning, one person died and 7 others sustained injuries in a fiery collision on 71st Avenue.
The crash took place around 4:30 a.m., near 75th Avenue and Indian School Road, as per the report.
According to reports, the driver of a Chevy Trax was traveling west when he ran a red light through the intersection. There, the driver struck a southbound Chevy Silverado with 7 people inside.
By the time authorities arrived to the collision on 71st Avenue, both vehicles were engulfed in flames.
Paramedics responded and pronounced one man dead at the scene. In addition, a 26-year-old man suffered life-threatening injuries.
Six others, a 28-year-old man, a 25-year-old man, a 22-year-old man, a 19-year-old girl, an 18-year-old girl, and a 17-year-old girl, were also injured.
Investigators say the deceased man was the driver of the Chevy Trax. However, there is no additional information about the crash.
Meanwhile, the fiery collision on 71st Avenue is under investigation.
