Harding Road Car Accident Kills Horse and Injures the 19-Year-Old Rider
TURLOCK, CA (August 16, 2021) – The CHP are investigating a horse crash on Harding Road last Wednesday, involving a 19-year-old woman and a vehicle.
Officers responded to the incident around 9:08 A.M. at the 2300 block at East Harding Road.
Upon arrival, the authorities determined the 19-year-old woman was riding a horse going westbound on Youngstown.
Meanwhile, a pick-up truck going northbound approached the teen where the road turns into east Harding Road.
Apparently, the pickup driver later admitted to the authorities that he reached for something and took his eyes off the road.
In addition, the investigators claimed that the pick-up truck spun out of control as it attempted to avoid the woman on the horse.
Unfortunately, the right side of the vehicle struck the horse, killing it.
Luckily, paramedics managed to transport the woman to a hospital with serious injuries due to the impact.
The Turlock Officials are working to identify the circumstances surrounding the crash between the horse and the pick-up.
