Caltrans Worker Killed While Working along 10 Freeway in Ontario
ONTARIO, CA (August 12, 2021) – Friday night on July 30, a Caltrans worker was killed on the 10 freeway when a suspected DUI driver struck him.
The incident occurred around 11:00 p.m., between the off-ramps of Archibald and Vineyard Avenue, as per the report.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a Toyota sedan suddenly swerved into orange cones, striking one of the workers conducting maintenance.
The Toyota driver attempted to flee the scene, but good samaritans prevented an escape. Shortly after, authorities arrived and apprehended the suspect.
Moreover, the driver was then arrested under suspicion of DUI.
More details will be made available as they are released to the public. The victim’s identity has not been released pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, the crash is under investigation.
