SR-163 Pedestrian Crash Resulted in One Fatality

SAN DIEGO, CA (August 11, 2021) – On Sunday, a deadly pedestrian accident claimed the life of a man walking alongside traffic on SR-163.

Officers responded to the accident around 8:32 P.M. at the southbound State Route 163 near the transition road to Interstate 15 in Scripps Ranch.

Upon arrival, the first responders located the unresponsive pedestrian and eventually pronounced him dead at the scene.

Meanwhile, the investigation remains unclear about the circumstances behind the accident and the total number of casualties.

At this time, the San Diego Police have withheld the identity of the deceased victim while they await confirmation from the victim’s family.

In the end, the California Highway Patrol issued a SigAlert on multiple lanes of SR-163 for several hours of shutdown.
