Driver Dies in Fiery Semi-Truck Accident near Avenue 6 in Madera

MADERA, CA (August 10, 2021) – A fiery crash in Madera County involving a big-rig left one person killed and another injured last Thursday.

The incident occurred just before 8:30 p.m., near Avenue 6 and Highway 145, according to the police.

Investigators claimed that an eastbound minivan drove through a stop sign on Avenue 6 and collided with a southbound big-rig on Highway 145.

As a result, the minivan caught fire, instantly killing the driver of the vehicle. However, paramedics were able to airlift one passenger in the front seat to a hospital for further treatment.

Meanwhile, the truck driver sustained minor injuries.

At this time, the Madera County Officials are working to identify the circumstances surrounding the big-rig crash.
