Man Fatally Struck in Pedestrian Hit-and-Run on Highway 99
MODESTO, CA (August 6, 2021) – A 27-year-old Delhi man died early Tuesday morning when after a pedestrian hit-and-run on Highway 99 in Modesto.
Just before 3:00 a.m. on August 3, the CHP received a call about a pedestrian crash in the area. Dispatchers arrived to the scene near West Main Street.
According to police, the driver of the vehicle that hit the man did not remain at the scene.
Paramedics arrived at the scene and declared the man dead due to the extent of injuries sustained.
The unknown vehicle fled the scene, heading south on Highway 99, and was expected to have front-end damage.
At this time, the suspect driver is still at large.
