Pedestrian Dead after Collision in Apple Valley
APPLE VALLEY, CA (August 5, 2021) – Saturday night on July 24, a 62-year-old pedestrian was killed after being struck by a vehicle.
The crash took place around 10:44 p.m., on the State Highway 18, west of Corwin Road, as stated by the report.
According to the authorities, the pedestrian was crossing the highway when the driver of a 2016 Kia Forte attempted to veer out of the way, eventually striking the pedestrian.
Due to the extent of injuries, paramedics pronounced the pedestrian dead on scene.
Moreover, the Kia’s 30-year-old female driver instantly came to a halt and dialed 9-1-1. She was treated at the scene for minor injuries.
At this time, the identify of the pedestrian has not been released. Meanwhile, the cause and factors leading up to the crash are still under investigation.
