Bakersfield Hit-And-Run Crash Results in Fatality
BAKERSFIELD, CA (July 16, 2021) – A hit-and-run crash in East Bakersfield claimed the life of Pedro Torres on Sunday, said CHP.
The fatal incident occurred around 12:30 a.m., at Edison Highway and Mt. Vernon Avenue. Dispatchers arrived shortly after.
Moreover, investigators revealed that a vehicle struck Torres while he was walking outside a crosswalk on westbound Edison Highway. Emergency responders declared the pedestrian dead at the scene.
Later on, the Kern County Coroner’s Office identified the man as 37-year-old Pedro Moreno Torres.
Police say the hit-and-run suspect was driving an older, silver compact sedan with headlight damage.
