1 Pronounced Dead after Fatal Head-On Collision on Highway 70
BUTTE COUNTY, CA (July 13, 2021) – One person lost their life early Monday morning after fatal two-vehicle head-on collision on Highway 70.
The deadly crash happened shortly after 3:00 a.m. July 5, on Highway 70 between Rich Gulch Road and the bridge.
According to the CHP, two cars were heading in different directions and collided head-on, under unknown circumstances.
Responding officers arrived at the scene and located one driver killed in the collision.
Meanwhile, other rescue workers airlifted another driver to a nearby hospital with unspecified injuries.
Furthermore, police shut down a stretch of Highway 70 for several hours to investigate the crash. But, the road has since reopened.
At this time, officials have not yet released other information about the crash. However, an active investigation is currently underway.
