Vanessa Ramirez Killed, Jim Rosado Arrested after DUI Crash on 5 Freeway [Irvine, CA]
33-Year-Old Man Charged after Fatal DUI Crash near Yale Avenue
IRVINE, CA (June 22, 2021) – Early Sunday morning, Vanessa Ramirez of Cudahy, was killed, and Jim Rosado was arrested after a deadly DUI crash on 5 Freeway.
The fatal accident occurred around 5:30 a.m., on the Santa Ana (5) Freeway near Yale Avenue.
For unknown reasons, several vehicles collided on the northbound lanes. CHP arrived to the area shortly after.
When rescuers arrived, they pronounced Ramirez dead on scene.
Paramedics also rushed at least two other people to Orange County Global Medical Center with unknown injuries.
Officials later identified the suspect as Jim Christopher Rosado. According to reports, he is now charged with murder and driving under the influence of a drug causing injury, with a sentencing enhancement allegation of inflicting great bodily injury on the victim.
Authorities did not release any additional information at this time. However, an active investigation is underway.
