2 Fatalities Reported after Deadly 2-Car Crash on Highway 89 in Truckee
TRUCKEE, CA (June 1, 2021) – Police are investigating a head-on collision on Highway 89 that claimed the life of Ross Schultz and Dixie Lewis, Tuesday afternoon.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 3:25 p.m., near Cabin Creek Road.
Furthermore, reports stated that the head-on collision involved a big-rig and a sedan. However, the circumstances leading up to the crash remain unknown.
Upon arrival, emergency responders discovered the sedan pinned under the big-rig. Despite life-saving efforts, the rescue personnel pronounced at least two people dead on scene.
The coroner’s office identified the victims to be 20-year-old Ross Schultz and 19-year-old Dixie Lewis.
At this time, the authorities are investigating Highway 89 for possible factors that contributed to the head-on collision. More information will be given once available.
